Job Description

Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) degree, active Pharmacist license, and minimum 1+ years Pharmacist experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.

This opportunity is ideal for a licensed pharmacist seeking a 13-week contract in a Long Term Care Mail Order environment. The role involves delivering expert pharmaceutical services with a focus on patient safety, medication management, and regulatory compliance.

Location: West Jordan, UT
Schedule:

  • Wednesday to Friday: 9:00 AM – 7:30 PM
  • Saturday: 2:00 PM – 6:00 PM

Key Responsibilities:

  • Accept and accurately dispense prescription medications.
  • Monitor patient medication use to identify compliance or over-usage issues.
  • Ensure all medication supplies comply with legal requirements.
  • Verify appropriateness of prescribed medicines for patients.
  • Maintain confidential and accurate patient records in compliance with pharmacy standards.
  • Educate patients on medication usage, potential side effects, and answer related questions.
  • Provide consultation on prescription and over-the-counter medication usage, dosage, side effects, and interactions.
  • Offer additional patient services, including smoking cessation support, blood pressure checks, and cholesterol management.
  • Train patients on the proper use of medical devices such as blood pressure monitors and glucose meters.
  • Compound medications and prepare sterile solutions following strict procedures.
  • Supervise pharmacy staff including technicians and clerks.
  • Manage pharmaceutical and medical supply inventory.
  • Identify and communicate drug-related patient issues with healthcare providers effectively.

Qualifications:

  • Pharmacy licensure valid in the state of Washington.
  • Experience in Long Term Care, Mail Order, or Retail pharmacy settings.
