Business Development Manager (BDM I) - Utah County Based

Synergy Physical Therapy | Part-Time or Full-Time

About the Role

Synergy Physical Therapy is looking for a Business Development Manager to be the friendly, trusted link between our patients, our clinical team, and the referral sources in our community. This is a relationship-driven role for someone who genuinely loves helping people. You'll guide patients from their very first phone call all the way through evaluation and into care, while also building the physician, legal, and community partnerships that help our clinics grow.

If you're a natural relationship-builder with a service-first mindset and an interest in healthcare, this could be a great fit. It's flexible too: we're open to part-time or full-time, depending on what works for you and the business. Will need to be local in Utah county to facilitate visits and other in person meetings.

What You'll Do Patient Experience & Advocacy
  • Make sure every new patient gets a prompt call after their initial consult
  • Coordinate and confirm Initial Evaluation visits, rescheduling as needed
  • Stay in touch with patients after that first contact so nothing falls through the cracks and their experience feels smooth and supported
  • Be a go-to resource for new patients and their families, answering questions and offering guidance on their treatment options and next steps
  • Check in on patient satisfaction (NPS) and follow up after evaluations and first visits to see how things are going
Referral & Community Relationships
  • Build and maintain referral relationships across medical, legal, and community networks
  • Keep in regular touch with referring health professionals to stay top of mind
  • Come up with and run strategies that grow revenue from existing referral sources and bring in new ones
  • Represent Synergy at health fairs, senior centers, and other community events
  • Set up lunches, meet-and-greets, and other ways to build relationships with referral partners
  • Nurture physician relationships and manage outreach lists (like MD drop-offs)
Territory & Business Planning
  • Keep an eye on territory performance by reviewing referral reports regularly and flagging any drop-off in business
  • Build a sales and growth plan for each clinic in your territory
  • Track new evaluations that come from your outreach
  • Help manage and grow Synergy's social media and marketing efforts
  • Develop monthly marketing themes and messaging across channels
  • Join weekly marketing meetings with ownership and leadership
What You Bring Required
  • At least 2 years of experience in a patient care environment
  • Strong interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills
  • A genuine knack for customer service, with an empathetic, kind, engaging personality
  • Good organizational and time management skills, and the ability to keep yourself on schedule
  • A valid, non-revoked passenger vehicle driver's license
  • Be able to be on-site to visit offices and develop relationships in person
  • A working understanding of health insurance basics
Preferred
  • A bachelor's degree in Healthcare Administration, Marketing, Business Administration, or a related field, or an equivalent mix of education and experience
  • A clinical or allied health background or certification such as ATC, CNA, MA, EMT, Surgical Technician, LVN, PTA, Physician Extender, OTA, or similar (helpful, but we'll train you)
Good to Know
  • Schedule:

Open to both part-time and full-time candidates
  • Reports to:

    Practice Owners
  • Travel:
Local travel by car is required, with occasional travel by air or other public transportation
  • Physical requirements:

Regular sitting, walking, and standing; occasional bending or twisting; frequent talking and hearing in person and by phone; ability to lift up to 25 lbs; close and distance vision with the ability to adjust focus
