PositionMechanic II
Job SummaryUnder the supervision of the Fleet Services Supervisor, performs journey‑level work related to the maintenance of Utah County Fleet Services’ vehicles, equipment, and facilities.
ScheduleMonday – Friday, 7:30 a.m. – 4:00 p.m.
Grade & Pay- Grade 722 – $26.74 – $30.74
- Grade 719 – $21.72 – $24.95
- Associate degree related to automotive or diesel mechanics and four (4) years of formal work experience performing automotive mechanical repair activities. Equivalent combinations of education and related experience totaling six (6) years may also be considered, such as:
- One (1) year certificate program and five (5) years of experience
- High school diploma and six (6) years of experience
- Additional combinations may also be considered
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Completion of a one (1) year certificate program related to mechanics or automotive service work.
- One (1) year of formal work experience performing automotive mechanical repair activities.
- Equivalent combinations of education and related experience totaling two (2) years may also be considered, such as:
- Associate degree related to automotive or diesel mechanics
- High School diploma and two (2) years of experience
- Additional combinations may also be considered
- Selected applicants must obtain the following during the probationary period for new employees or the trial period for County employees promoted through competitive recruitment:
- Utah State Inspection License
- Utah County Emissions License
- Forklift Operator Certification
- State of Utah Class A Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) with T Endorsement
- County employees reassigned, transferred, or reclassified to this job through career ladder advancement must possess these certifications and licenses upon reassignment, transfer, or career ladder advancement.
- Applicants must possess a valid driver’s license and obtain a valid State of Utah driver’s license within sixty (60) days of employment.
- Selected applicants may be required to obtain a Motorcycle Endorsement on their Utah Driver’s License.
