Job Description

This position is responsible for performing minor and miscellaneous maintenance, repair, and upkeep on assigned facility and property systems to include building systems, grounds maintenance, equipment and furniture maintenance, and janitorial maintenance. Tasks may include moving and assembling furniture and equipment, painting, performing janitorial and cleaning tasks both indoors and out, minor plumbing and lighting repairs, and other duties as assigned.

Reports major repair and maintenance needs to supervisor.

Essential Functions and Basic Duties
  • Assumes responsibility for the effective performance of assigned facility maintenance functions.
  • Performs detailed cleaning of drive‑up areas, garbage enclosures, front entrances, and all exterior areas.
  • Provides support to grounds maintenance by weeding, trimming, sweeping sidewalks and gutters, picking up trash and litter, snow removal, and ice melt application, as well as performing minor sprinkler repair.
  • Might be assigned to support janitorial services for detailed cleaning of interior offices. Checks vacuuming, dusting, window washing, etc. to ensure clean and attractive offices for members and employees.
  • Performs minor building and furniture modifications or repairs involving carpentry, painting, lighting, plumbing, and general building upkeep.
  • As assigned, may operate building systems equipment to maintain proper building functions and assist outside service representatives in checking, maintaining, and repairing assigned building components and equipment.
  • Moves and assembles furniture and equipment as assigned.
  • Performs snow removal and ice melt application during the winter season.
  • Completes assigned maintenance functions in accordance with policies and procedures.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
    • Establishes and maintains effective communication, coordination, and working relationships with staff and vendors.
    • Assists Credit Union personnel and vendors as needed and according to guidelines.
    • Keeps supervisor informed of area activities and any significant problems or maintenance concerns.
    • Attends and participates in meetings as required; completes required records and reports.
    • Utilizes basic computer programs to communicate and fulfill position requirements.
    • Assumes responsibility for related duties as required or assigned.
    • Performs miscellaneous and specially requested tasks.
    • May assist in setting up for an event.
    • May be assigned after‑hour assignments on occasion.
    • Completes assigned training.
    • Works a regular and predictable schedule.
Performance Measurements
  • Buildings, equipment, and assigned areas of responsibility are clean and well maintained.
  • Preventative maintenance and repairs are performed in accordance with established standards and procedures.
  • Maintenance needs and problems are identified, resolved, or reported in a timely way.
  • Maintenance functions are coordinated with the entire department.
  • Supervisor and department are appropriately informed of activities.
  • Accounting of time and work is kept current and accurate.
  • Productive and efficient use of time is critical to this position.
Qualifications
  • Education:

    High school graduate, or equivalent combination of experience or training.
  • Driver’s License.
  • Bondable.
  • Preference for some experience in building maintenance or construction.
  • Knowledge:
    Basic understanding of janitorial equipment and procedures.
  • Knowledge:
    Basic understanding of building and property maintenance.
  • Knowledge:
    Basic knowledge of sprinkler irrigation and minor building systems repair.
  • Experience:

    Some property maintenance or construction experience preferred.
  • Skills:

    Above‑average mechanical and problem‑solving abilities.
  • Skills:

    Well organized and able to work well independently.
  • Skills:

    Able to coordinate well with others and professionally assist members and staff as needed.
  • Skills:

    Attentive to detail and average communication skills.
  • Skills:

    Ability to operate a variety of hand and power tools, outdoor equipment, etc.
