Provo City is hiring a Director of Parks and Recreation to provide executive direction and administration work with responsibility to plan, organize, lead, and direct all activities of the Parks and Recreation Department. This position will work closely with City Administration and the Municipal Council.
The Director of Parks & Recreation will be an effective leader with a demonstrated history of success focused on collaboration and entrepreneurial management. Well-rounded professionals with creative problem-solving mindsets who are interested in supporting the parks services provided to the residents of Provo City are strongly encouraged to apply.

** Pay Rate**: (M05) $133,541-$195,861 annualized (depending on qualifications)
** Selection of Essential Duties**:
* Oversee and direct all activities, programs, personnel, and strategies of the Parks & Recreation department.
* Establish a department vision and direct its execution.
* Assess the community’s parks and recreation needs and establish a variety of programs.
* Oversee the release of public announcements and activity promotions.
* Prepare a timely departmental budget and manage departmental expenditures.
* Oversee procurement of new equipment, including researching innovative procedures and equipment to advance the efficiency and ability of the department.
* Manage staffing within the department including selection, development, discipline, recognition, and retention**.
*** Represent the department and the City on various boards, groups, and committees.
** Minimum Requirements**:
* Provo City will honor an equivalent combination of job-related education, training, and experience.
** Master’s degree in business, public administration, or a related field.
* Six (6) years of professional experience in a closely related field, four (4) years of which must be at a management level.
* A valid, lawful Drivers License.
