The Business Manager is a key member of the Whitmore Global Business Center in the BYU Marriott School of Business. This leadership role is responsible for overseeing financial management, human resources, office operations, and program administration. The Whitmore Global Business Center prepares students to lead in a global business environment through international experiences, academic programs, and certification. This ¾‑time position manages the Center’s complex financial portfolio, supervises staff and student employees, supports faculty and leadership, and directs the Cardon International Sponsorship (CIS).
This role requires exceptional organizational skills, sound judgment, strong interpersonal abilities, and the capacity to manage multiple priorities while ensuring compliance with university policies.
- Oversee all financial operations for the Whitmore Global Business Center, including management of endowments, grants, gifts, and operating budgets.
- Supervise student employees and support HR processes including hiring, onboarding, training, scheduling, and performance management.
- Serve as the operational hub for the Whitmore Global Business Center by coordinating the office functions and administrative support for leadership and faculty.
- Plan and execute Center events, retreats, orientations, and guest visits, including logistics, vendor coordination, and budget oversight.
- Manage academic scheduling processes and collaborate with college and university partners to resolve conflicts.
- Direct administration of the Cardon International Sponsorship (CIS) program, including financial oversight, loan administration, and student support.
- Support international graduate students through orientation programs, leadership development activities, and compliance requirements.
- Ensure adherence to university financial, HR and administrative policies while serving as liaison to central campus offices.

- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent professional experience in business management, finance, or a related field and two years of professional experience in Accounting or Finance related disciplines
- Competence in office software programs (MS Office Suite), including Power BI or data visualization
- Strong interpersonal communication skills
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines
- Ability to manage proprietary information appropriately
- Bachelor or Master’s degree
- Two years of professional office management experience
- Knowledge of BYU systems, including Workday
