Primary

Purpose:

To organize and delegate work assignments to ensure the poles systems are operational and functioning properly. Supervises maintenance workers and has strong leadership and interpersonal skills. Applicants interested are expected to know the principles, values and behaviors of the McWane Compass.

• Supervise and mentor maintenance techs.
• Address errors, problems, solve root causes daily.
• Organize, design, delegate, and complete work assignments for maintenance techs.
• Coordinate with Engineering to implement new systems as well as troubleshoot current systems.
• Research and order parts for various machines needed.
• Estimate costs of labor and parts for industrial equipment.
• Build outage maintenance schedules with work orders and staffing.
• Plan work for outside contractors, field investigations, file searches to define scope of work and organize jobs in a timely manner.
• Plan and arrange activities related to equipment maintenance to enhance equipment and plant accessibility.
• Understand and uphold plant safety requirements and enforce them as needed.
• Any additional responsibilities as assigned.

Heavy industrial setting involving work around molten metal.

Standing for long periods of time, work that may involve lifting to 50 lbs.

Full‑time hours; typical work schedule is 7:00 AM – 4:00 PM, additional hours as needed and schedule subject to change.

Some travel may be required.

• At least 5 years of supervisory experience, including training, performance reviews, disciplining employees, blueprint reading, and preferable trade school.
• Willingness to take management classes.
• Fosters a culture of continuous improvement and positive work relationships.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (or willingness to learn).

• Familiar with MDU EHS policies.
• Proficient with Ulti Pro.
• Excellent verbal and written communication and interpersonal abilities.
• Ability to multi‑task and strong attention to detail.
