VP Mortgage Production

Responsible for the management, direction and development of all mortgage production activities and operations. Provides leadership in the interest of the overall growth and development of the Credit Union. Oversees the extension of credit for home loans and related U/W, processing, closing, shipping, and funding functions. Ensures that such lending operations are in accordance with established policies, procedures, and legal requirements, and result in maximum volume, appropriate profit, and minimum delinquency ratios, repurchases, and investor penalties.

Ensures that all subordinate areas of responsibility support Credit Union objectives and goals. Trains, directs, and appraises assigned personnel. Ensures that services are delivered professionally and efficiently, and that members' problems are resolved promptly.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND BASIC DUTIES

1. Assumes responsibility for the development and implementation of effective Mortgage Department policies, procedures, and planning.

2. Assumes responsibility for the effective and efficient completion of Mortgage functions.

3. Effectively supervises Department staff, ensuring optimal performance.

4. Assumes responsibility for ensuring that professional business relations exist with members, vendors, and trade professionals.

5. Assumes responsibility for establishing and maintaining effective communication, coordination, and working relations with Credit Union personnel and with management.

6. Assumes responsibility for related duties as required or assigned.

PERFORMANCE MEASUREMENTS

1. Mortgage services are efficiently and effectively provided in accordance with established Credit Union policies and standards and with applicable laws and regulations. Production goals are met.

2. Problems are closely tracked and effectively resolved.

3. Good business relationships exist with builders, realtors and real estate brokers that result in preferred lender partnerships.

4. Good business relationships exist with members and their lending needs are properly assessed and met. Effective financial counseling is provided as needed.

5. Staff are well trained, effective, efficiently utilized, and well supervised. Assistance is provided as needed.

6. Professional business relations exist with members and external trade contacts. Questions and problems are promptly and courteously resolved.

7. Effective working relations and coordination exist with department and Credit Union personnel. Support is provided as required.

8. Management is appropriately informed of area activities and of any significant concerns.

QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION/CERTIFICATION:

Bachelors degree in business or related field or an equivalent combination of formal training and experience. REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE :
Thorough knowledge of Credit Union mortgage products and applicable policies and standards. Understanding of government regulations and legal requirements involving lending and related functions. Extensive understanding of Conventional, Non-conforming, and Government mortgage programs

EXPERIENCE

REQUIRED:

[With Master's Degree in business or related field] At least three years of progressive experience in mortgage lending related positions. At least three years of administrative and supervisory experience [With Bachelor's Degree in business or related field] At least five years of progressive experience in mortgage lending related positions. At least three years of administrative and supervisory experience [With no Degree in business or related field] At least ten years of progressive experience in mortgage lending related positions.

At least four years of administrative and supervisory experience

SKILLS/ABILITIES:
Strong leadership and supervisory skills. Good project management abilities. Well organized. Solid written and verbal communication abilities. Able to meet deadlines. Able to use PC and basic business equipment.

Especially where one must frequently convey detailed or important instructions or ideas accurately, loudly, or quickly.

AVERAGE HEARING:
Able to hear average or normal conversations and receive ordinary information.

REPETITIVE MOTION:
Movements frequently and regularly required using the wrists, hands, and/or fingers.

AVERAGE VISUAL ABILITIES:
Average, ordinary, visual acuity necessary to prepare or inspect documents or products, or operate machinery.

PHYSICAL STRENGTH:
Sedentary work; sitting most of the time. Exerts up to 10 lbs. of force occasionally. (Almost all office jobs.)

WORKING CONDITIONS

No hazardous or significantly unpleasant conditions (such as in a typical office).
