Job DescriptionPrimary
Purpose:
To organize and delegate work assignments to ensure the poles systems are operational and functioning properly. Supervises maintenance workers and has strong leadership and interpersonal skills. Applicants interested are expected to know the principles, values and behaviors of the McWane Compass.
Basic
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Supervise and mentor maintenance techs.
- Organize, design, delegate, and complete work assignments for maintenance techs.
- Coordinate with Engineering to implement new systems as well as troubleshoot current systems.
- Research and order parts for various machines needed.
- Estimate costs of labor and parts for industrial equipment.
- Create outage maintenance schedules with work orders and staffing.
- Plan work for outside contractors, field investigations, file searches to define scope of work and organize jobs in a timely manner.
- Plan and arrange activities related to equipment maintenance to enhance equipment and plant accessibility.
- Understand and uphold plant safety requirements and enforce them as needed.
- Perform any additional responsibilities as assigned.

Reports to: Poles Operations Manager
Date: 4/17/26
Work Environment: Heavy Industrial Setting, will be involved in working around molten metal.
Physical Demands: Standing for long periods of time, work that may involve lifting up to 50 lbs.
Position type and expected hours of work: Full time hours typical work schedule is 7:00 AM – 4:00 PM, additional hours as needed and schedule subject to change.
Travel: Some travel may be required.
QualificationsQualifications:
- At least 5 years supervisory experience including training, performance reviews, disciplining employees, blueprint reading, and preferably trade school.
- Willingness to take management classes.
- Fosters a culture of continuous improvement and positive work relationships.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (or willingness to learn).
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Familiar with MDU EHS policies.
- Proficient with Ulti Pro.
- Excellent verbal and written communication and interpersonal abilities.
- Ability to multi-task and strong attention to detail.
