Finish Specialist

The Finish Specialist, with minimal supervision, performs finishing preparation, application and polishing of parts and minor repair and touch-up work in a safe, clean and organized work area according to customer expectations and Duncan Aviation approved procedures. In addition, this position assists with training less experienced technicians.

Essential Job Functions

• With minimal supervision, prepares cabinet surfaces and substrates for paint or finish and miscellaneous plastic, metal and leather parts for paint or dye to customer satisfaction and Duncan Aviation approved procedures using appropriate equipment.
• With minimal supervision, applies stains, dyes, paints or finishes to prepared parts. Mixes paint and stains as needed.
• With minimal supervision, performs basic detail work, polish and clean-up on finished items.
• With minimal supervision, performs structural and decorative repairs as required.
• With minimal supervision researches, prepares, and signs off various documents for record keeping purposes as required by Duncan Aviation approved procedures, manufacturers' maintenance manuals, and FAA regulations (i.e. turnovers, removal sheets, flammability testing, W.O. Sheets, personal training log, FAA 8110-3 & FAA 337's, and other work order related documents supporting the review of squawks and expected hours).
• Performs other related duties as assigned by management.
