Overview
The Registered Nurse (RN) – Outpatient Infusion provides high-quality, patient-centered care to individuals receiving infusion therapies across American Fork, Utah Valley, and Spanish Fork Hospitals. This RN is accountable for the comprehensive assessment, planning, coordination, implementation, and evaluation of care in a fast-paced ambulatory setting.
Responsibilities- Utilize evidence-based practice, clinical technology, and therapeutic interventions to safely administer infusions, monitor patient responses, and promote optimal outcomes.
- Partner closely with physicians, pharmacists, and interdisciplinary care teams to ensure seamless coordination of care, patient education, and an exceptional patient experience throughout the treatment journey.
- Care for patients holistically—addressing physical, emotional, and psychosocial needs—while partnering closely with patients, families, physicians, and interdisciplinary teams.
- Deliver high-quality, coordinated care using evidence‑based practice, clinical technology, and strong nursing fundamentals in a structured outpatient setting.
- Collaborate across disciplines, working alongside providers and support staff to create seamless care transitions, patient education, and follow‑up planning.
- Make a lasting impact on patient experience by evaluating outcomes, adapting care plans, and prioritizing both clinical results and patient satisfaction.
- Practice with professionalism and integrity, supported by strong ethical standards, regulatory compliance, and a culture of accountability.
- Grow and lead, contributing to the development of others while advancing the nursing profession through collaboration, mentorship, and shared best practices.
- Current license to practice as a Registered Nurse in the state of practice.
- Valid compact licenses must be transferred to the state of practice within 60 days of the start of employment.
- Bachelor's degree in nursing (BSN).
- RNs with less than 12 months of experience must obtain their Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) within four (4) years of their hire date.
- Basic Life Support Certification (BLS) for healthcare providers.
- Bachelor's degree in nursing (BSN) from an accredited institution.
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) is required as of the job description's last update on 4/27/2025. Employees hired or promoted prior to this date will be held to the minimum requirements that were in place at the time of their promotion or hire.
- Ongoing need to see and read information, labels, assess patient needs, operate monitors, identify equipment and supplies.
- Frequent verbal communication and hearing of spoken information, alarms, needs, and issues quickly and accurately, particularly during emergency situations.
- Manual dexterity of hands and fingers to manipulate complex and delicate equipment with precision and accuracy, including frequent computer use and typing for documenting patient care, accessing needed information, medication preparation, etc.
- Expected to lift and utilize full range of movement to transfer patients, bend to retrieve, lift, and carry supplies and equipment, and move items of varying weights, up to and including heavy items.
- Need to walk and assist with transporting/ambulating patients and obtaining and distributing supplies and equipment; including pushing/pulling gurneys and portable equipment, including heavy items.
- Often required to navigate crowded and busy rooms (full of equipment, power cords on the floor, etc.) and may stand in a stationary position for an extended period of time.
Flexible shifts: 8AM – 6:30PM, 10‑hour shifts. Rotating weekends (once every 8 weeks) and no on‑call needs.
Scheduled weekly hours: 30. Hourly rate: $34.53 – $52.25, actual rate dependent upon experience.
