Overview
The Registered Nurse (RN) is a professional caregiver who assumes responsibility for assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating patient care. The staff RN uses the nursing process, technology, evidence-based practice, and coordination of care with the health care team. This position is in an endoscopy department within a modern hospital located in Utah Valley, offering opportunities for specialty experience, teamwork, and quality of life in a scenic setting.
Responsibilities- Assess physical, social, and psychological status; gather information from patients, families, and interdisciplinary team members.
- Develop individualized plans of care in collaboration with patients, families, and the health care team; provide education as needed.
- Direct and coordinate the interdisciplinary care team; delegate and ensure care aligns with the plan and licensure requirements.
- Set priorities, manage time, supplies, and resources to deliver safe, effective patient care.
- Evaluate patient responses to interventions; revise the plan of care as indicated; reassess as needed.
- Demonstrate professionalism by upholding legal and ethical standards, ensuring accurate documentation, and practicing within licensure scope.
- Location:
Intermountain Health Utah Valley Hospital, Provo, UT - Schedule:
Four 10-hour shifts per week, Monday through Friday; exact days vary based on department needs - Rotating call for nights, weekends, and holidays; schedule subject to patient care needs
- Current license to practice as a Registered Nurse in the practicing state; valid compact licenses must be transferred within 60 days of start
- BSN required; those with less than 12 months of experience must obtain a BSN within four years of hire
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification for healthcare providers
- Bachelor's degree in Nursing from an accredited institution; degree will be verified
- Note:
BSN is required as of the job description last updated on 4/27/2025; employees hired or promoted prior to this date will follow the minimum requirements in place at hire/promotion
- Frequent reading, interpretation of information, and communication with patients and team members
- Manual dexterity and ability to manipulate complex equipment; extensive computer use for documentation
- Ability to lift and transfer patients, move supplies and equipment, and navigate busy environments
- Ability to stand for extended periods and drive if required
