Position Title: Epic Sports field and Ballfield Maintenance Laborers

The Parks Maintenance Division of the Provo City Parks and Recreation Department are hiring laborer positions needed for the 2026 season. Laborers will be assigned to the Epic Sports park or other Provo City sport and ball fields as needed.

Pay Rate: $16.00 - $20.00 per hour (depending upon skill level and experience). Payment will be direct deposit.

• Drag, rake, and chalk dirt infields for youth baseball and softball programs.
• Perform a variety of sports field maintenance tasks including Mowing, edging, topdressing, aerating, fertilizing, and irrigation repair.
• Assist in cleaning and maintaining tools and equipment.
• Assist with running weekend tournaments as needed.
• Clean restrooms and pick up debris.
• Operate trucks, four wheelers, or small tractors.
• Assist in field layout and painting.
• Assist other crew members as needed and perform other related work as required.

• Sufficient knowledge, training, and/or experience that demonstrates an ability to perform the duties of the job.
• Valid, lawful driver license.

Schedule varies Monday through Sunday and will be determined by supervisor. Typically 40 hours a week with most work on Monday through Friday. Must be flexible to work some weekends with tournaments, special events, or preventative maintenance, as directed. Duration of positions is approximately March 1 through November 1, 2026.

This work requires strenuous physical labor; walking; bending; reaching; lifting (up to 70 lbs.); and exposure to adverse weather conditions and some pesticides. Applicants must have sufficient physical strength and agility to perform the work.

If selected for hire, candidate will be required to successfully pass a drug screen and criminal background check. Non-disclosure may result in dismissal. Applicants with unsatisfactory drug screen results will be ineligible for appointment or application to any Provo City position for a minimum period of six (6) months.
