Education and Experience Qualifications

The Airframe Technician operates with limited supervision to assist with testing, adjusting, and repairing airframe systems and components on all models of Learjet business jets. The technician performs maintenance in a safe and clean work environment according to manufacturer specifications, Duncan Aviation approved procedures, and customer specifications. Documentation is prepared and completed in a timely manner.

Essential Job Functions / Expectations
  • With proper training and limited supervision, performs high quality inspections, servicing, and maintenance on a variety of airframes. Uses hand tools in a timely, clean, safe, and professional manner with no rework and accurately orders general aircraft parts as needed.
  • Performs minor troubleshooting, function testing, and repair of aircraft systems and components.
  • Prepares record‑keeping documents such as turnovers, removal sheets, personal training logs, etc., and demonstrates proficiency in the Duncan Aviation work order system by completing accurate and timely discrepancies and corrective action statements, Service Bulletins, AD Compliance statements, final inspections, and closing of squawks and work orders.
  • Consistently locates and utilizes appropriate technical data and follows verbal instructions when accomplishing assigned maintenance tasks.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned by management.
Job Specific Requirements
  • Licenses/Certificates:
    Airframe and Powerplant Certificate required; valid driver’s license and acceptable driving record.
  • Attendance:
    Regular scheduled attendance required.
  • Physical:
    Regularly lifts up to 50 lbs. and occasionally up to 100 lbs.; reads small print; hears sounds associated with mechanical deficiencies; repeats motion; works with moving parts and vibration; tolerates products, materials, and fumes associated with aircraft maintenance; tolerates confined spaces and heights above four feet; tolerates walking, bending, kneeling, stooping, crouching, crawling, climbing, and sitting.
  • Environmental:
    Tolerates extreme temperatures and noisy environments.
  • Work Schedule:

    Must be available for all shifts.
Education and Experience Levels Airframe Technician I
  • Entry level to two years Aircraft/Business Jet maintenance experience preferred.
  • High School graduate or equivalent required.
  • FAA Airframe Maintenance Certificate required.
  • FAA Powerplant Certificate required.
Airframe Technician II
  • Two years relevant Aircraft/Business Jet maintenance experience required.
  • High School graduate or equivalent required.
  • FAA Airframe Maintenance Certificate required.
  • FAA Powerplant Certificate required.
Airframe Technician III
  • More than four years relevant Aircraft/Business Jet maintenance experience required.
  • High School graduate or equivalent required.
  • FAA Airframe Maintenance Certificate required.
  • FAA Powerplant Certificate required.
Airframe Lead/Master Technician
  • More than five years relevant Aircraft/Business Jet maintenance experience on multiple models, with experience overseeing large Learjet inspections or managing large repair projects.
  • High School graduate or equivalent required.
  • FAA Airframe Maintenance Certificate required.
  • FAA Powerplant Certificate required.
