Utility Plant Health Care Technician

Starting pay is $20/hour, earn up to $24/hour after 90 days and up $28 after 1 year

Join Growth Solutions, a 100% employee‑owned subsidiary of Rainbow Companies, as a Utility Vegetation Management Technician. You will apply Tree Growth Regulator (TGR) soil treatments to slow the growth of trees near powerlines, reducing pruning needs and improving tree health.

What You’ll Do

• Safely mix and handle TGR products in compliance with company, state, and federal guidelines.
• Keep accurate digital records to support research and compliance.
• Communicate professionally with homeowners, representing Growth Solutions and utility partners.
• Locate and identify trees for treatment using utility right‑of‑way survey techniques.

Qualifications

• Willingness to travel up to 75% of the time.
• Must reside in Idaho Falls, .
• High school diploma or GED.
• Valid driver’s license and commitment to safe driving.
• Obtain pesticide applicator’s license upon starting (we will pay for the test).

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in forestry, tree care, landscaping, or utility work.
• Tree identification knowledge.
• Comfortability with using basic hand tools and performing general maintenance on equipment.

Schedule & Travel

• Full‑time position with overtime paid at 1.5x.
• Typical workweek is 50 hours Monday through Friday.
• Up to 75% travel, including up to four weeks on the road with one week off, and shorter trips when work availability is closer to your home.
