Job Title and Compensation
Lift Maintenance Level III
Rate of Pay: DOE
Shift and Availability- Day shifts 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM
- Night shifts 3:30 PM to 10:00 PM (must be available early mornings for control work as needed)
- Monday through Sunday; weekend and holiday availability required
FLSA Status: Non‑Exempt/Hourly Year‑Round
SUMMARYLift Maintenance Level III candidate will help create a safe lift experience while delivering a dynamic and engaging experience for guests. The candidate uses mechanical abilities to assist the Lift Maintenance Manager with all aspects of chairlift maintenance year‑round, enjoys working outdoors and in extreme conditions, and organizes, trains, documents, and supervises the performance of other lift operators and maintenance crew.
The candidate must be self‑motivated and interested in hard work.
- Proficient in all level II duties and responsibilities.
- 1+ years of experience as level II or equivalent experience.
- Assist with maintenance shifts during operations.
- Assist Lift Maintenance Manager in seasonal maintenance of all lifts.
- Work with and assist Lift Maintenance Manager throughout all summer and seasonal maintenance seasons.
- Run your own maintenance crew on any lift.
- Accurately perform lift maintenance without needing supervision.
- When Lift Maintenance Manager is unavailable, fulfil duties as needed.
- Advance knowledge of proper diagnosis and repair of all lifts and related equipment independently.
- Provide accurate, up‑to‑date record‑keeping of completed maintenance.
- Comfortable working from heights while on lift towers and work carts.
- Utilize appropriate PPE (Personal Protection Equipment) for task.
- May pursue or be assigned other duties within Mountain Operations based on departmental needs and individual interests.
- Must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.
- High school diploma or GED; one season related experience and/or training or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Operator must be a Lift Foreman for at least one season and demonstrate a high level of proficiency as a Lift Foreman.
- Proficiency in electronic mail and word processing.
- Customer service experience in the ski industry is preferred but not required.
- Physical demands include standing, walking, using hands, reaching, climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, crawling; regularly lifting and moving up to 50 lb and occasionally more than 100 lb. Visual requirements include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
