Provo City is looking for a part-time Recreation Leader to work with the special events team at Provo Rec Center. Qualified, civic-minded individuals are encouraged to apply.
** Job Details
**** Pay Rate:**$14.00 per hour Part-time Provo City employees are eligible to contribute to individual retirement savings plans through the City (401k, 457, Roth IRA, and/or Traditional IRA) and receive the following perks: a) free admission to the Provo Recreation Center, Peaks Ice Arena Public Skating, and Provo Shooting Sports Park; b) a free Provo City Library Card; c) a 25% discount on Provo Recreation Center memberships (direct family only);

* Organize, schedule, implement, and evaluate assigned recreational special events.
* Develop registration forms, policies, and practices in collaboration with operations staff.
* Establish and maintain schedules.
* Identify and report performance issues to supervisor.
* Provide informational feedback on event participation level and effectiveness.
* Solicit information from program participants.
* Post event notices and updates across platforms.
* Create digital, print, and graphic materials aligned with brand guidelines.
* Manage and schedule social media content.
* Supervise volunteers as needed.
* Assist other staff members and the public as needed and perform other related duties as required.
* High School Diploma or equivalent (GED).
* Any experience that demonstrates an ability to perform the work.
* A valid, lawful Driver License may be required.
* Event-planning experience preferred.
* Social media and marketing experience preferred. Monday through Saturday. Flexible hours with actual schedule to be determined by the hiring manager. This position requires office work and outdoor recreation work with sun and some adverse weather exposure. May include exposure to high-stress situations or environments , including contact with the public in confrontational or uncomfortable circumstances. Requires the ability to lift heavy objects up to 50 lbs.

** Applicants must meet the minimum qualifications listed above to be eligible for consideration. If selected for hire, candidate will be required to successfully pass a drug screen and criminal background check. Non-disclosure may result in dismissal. Applicants with unsatisfactory drug screen results will be ineligible for appointment or application to any Provo City position for a minimum period of six (6) months.
