Delivery Driver

Requirements

• You must be 18 years of age or older.
• Hold a valid driver’s license with a clean driving record that meets company standards.
• Have access to an insured vehicle suitable for delivery.
• Possess navigational skills to read maps, locate addresses within the designated delivery area, and navigate adverse terrain, including multi‑story buildings and private homes.
• Be able to perform basic arithmetic (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division) quickly and accurately.
• Make correct monetary change and process transactions accurately.
• Have adequate verbal, written, and telephone communication skills to take and process orders.
• Possess motor coordination between eyes and hands to execute precise movements swiftly.
• Use a computer keyboard or touch screen to enter orders efficiently.
• Maintain the ability to lift, carry, push, and climb as required by the role (see Physical Requirements).

• Stock ingredients from the delivery area to storage, work areas, and walk‑in cooler.
• Receive and process telephone orders.
• Take inventory and complete associated paperwork.
• Clean equipment and the facility regularly.
• Deliver product by car to customers’ doors and distribute flyers and door hangers.

• Orientation and on‑the‑job training provided.
• Training in communication skills, both verbal and written.
• Practice in processing orders over the phone and in person.

• Perform accurate and rapid arithmetic and monetary calculations.
• Execute verbal, written, and telephone communication for order handling.
• Maintain eye‑hand coordination for swift and precise task performance.
• Enter orders efficiently using computer keyboards or touch screens.
• Navigate delivery routes, including adverse terrain and multi‑story buildings.

• Varying and sometimes adverse weather conditions when delivering product and performing outside tasks.
• Environments ranging from 36°F in cooler to 90°F and above in some work areas.
• Exposure to food odors, cornmeal dust, and fumes.
• Work in cramped quarters such as walk‑in coolers.
• Hot surfaces/tools, with oven temperatures up to 500°F or higher.
• Sharp edges and moving mechanical parts.
• Potential temperature changes while working indoors and outdoors.

• Standing: Most tasks performed from a standing position, with walking surfaces including ceramic tile and linoleum. Work surfaces height between 36" and 48".
• Walking: Short distances for short durations; delivery personnel travel between the store, vehicle, and customer locations.
• Sitting: Paperwork typically completed at a desk or table.
• Lifting: Bulk product deliveries (up to 50 lbs, dimensions up to 3" x 1.5") unloaded with a hand truck and stacked on shelves up to 72" high.
• Carrying: Items such as large cans (3 lbs 7 oz), pizza sauce (30 lbs), and pizza dough trays (~12 lbs each) carried over short distances.
• Pushing: Trays on dollies (24"–30" wide) requiring up to 7.5 lbs force to push.
• Climbing: Occasionally navigating stairs or ladders; frequent flights of stairs may be required during delivery.
• Stooping/Bending: Forward bending at the waist necessary at the pizza assembly station and front counter.
• Crouching/Squatting: Performed occasionally for stocking shelves and cleaning low areas.
• Driving: Deliver pizzas within a designated delivery area; may make several deliveries per shift.
• Hand Tasks: Continuous use of hands; includes shaping dough, manipulating pizza tools, and assembling boxes.
• Equipment: Use of pencils/pens, computers, telephones, calculators, pizza cutter, and pizza peel.

• Deliver product by car and deliver flyers and door hangers.

• Valid driver’s license with a safe driving record meeting company standards.
• Access to an insured vehicle suitable for delivery.
