Responsibilities
- Assist with the inspection of airfield to comply with Federal Aviation Regulations including 12 CFR Part 139
- Closely monitor all airfield areas
- Ensure safe and smooth flow of aircraft
- Complete all required paperwork, communication and training to maintain FAA airport certifications
- Respond to inquiries, requests, and complaints
- Ensure TSR 1542 compliance
- Strictly maintain authorized airfield access via /media monitoring
- Monitor, inspect, and routinely patrol all airport areas for safety concerns, operation and security issues, and compliance with federal, state and local law, rules, and regulations
- Ensure all airport electrical systems/equipment, radio equipment, landing direction indicators, air traffic control tower, access gates, parking toll booths, baggage belts, ticket counters, boarding gates, and all other airport-owned equipment is fully operational 24/7
- Perform other related duties as required
- High School Diploma or equivalent (GED)
- 1 Year of progressively responsible maintenance and heavy equipment experience
- Department of Homeland Security background check
- A valid, lawful Commercial Driver’s License (CDL)
- Airport Security Coordinator certificate and Airport Inspector and Airport Wildlife Hazard Management on-the-job training completion required within one month of hire
- Must obtain and hold an Airport SIDA Badge
- 2 years of related experience at a Part 139 certificated airport OR a Bachelor’s degree in aviation-related field plus 1 year of experience at a Part 139 certificated airport (for Airport Operations Specialist II)
- FAA-accredited Aircraft Rescue and Fire Fighting (ARFF) certification during employment (for Airport Operations Specialist II)
- Must obtain 1 or more of ASOS, ACE, or CM ratings from American Association of Airport Executives (AAAE) (for Airport Operations Specialist II)
- 4 years of related experience at a Part 139 certificated airport (for Airport Operations Specialist III)
- Must obtain CM rating and 1 ACE rating:
Airfield Lighting, Airfield Operations, or Airport Security from American Association of Airport Executives (AAAE) (for Airport Operations Specialist III) - Must complete 1 of the following: CPR & AED, EMR, or EMT (for Airport Operations Specialist III)
