Opportunity for an experienced Mining Engineer to lead mine planning and support quarry operations, reserve management, and continuous improvement at a large cement manufacturing operation.
Key Responsibilities- Develop and implement mine plans in cooperation with Corporate Mining personnel.
- Perform GPS quarry surveys and maintain accurate mine mapping.
- Monitor and update mineral reserves.
- Partner with the Quality Department.
- Support permitting, environmental compliance, and regulatory activities.
- Optimize mobile equipment utilization through field studies and performance analysis.
- Train quarry personnel on mining plans and operational best practices.
- Monitor and improve mining key performance indicators (KPIs).
- Prepare internal and external mining reports.
- Bachelor’s degree in Mining Engineering or Geology.
- Two to five years of experience as a Mining Engineer or Mining Manager in an open pit mining operation.
- Strong planning, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Experience with Surpac Mining Software.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office.
- AutoCAD experience is a plus.
