Position OverviewWe are seeking an experienced Tool Room Attendant to oversee the daily operations of the Tool Room and Saw Shop in a busy machining environment. The Tool Room Attendant will manage inventory, maintain tooling and equipment, and support machining operations to ensure efficient workflow and adherence to safety standards. This position requires excellent organization, leadership skills, and hands‑on experience in a tool room or machine shop setting.
Key Responsibilities- Lead and coordinate daily activities in the Tool Room and Saw Shop
, ensuring safety and productivity. - Support team members by providing guidance, training, and technical assistance.
- Receive, inspect, and issue tools, equipment, and supplies as needed.
- Maintain accurate inventory records
, perform cycle counts, and resolve discrepancies. - Ensure tools and equipment are properly maintained, marked, and stored safely.
- Troubleshoot and repair tools and equipment as necessary.
- Set up tooling for CNC machines and assist in machining operations.
- Track and manage tooling orders through scheduling software and ensure correct setups.
- Collaborate with machinists, supervisors, and vendors to maintain adequate stock levels.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and efficient Tool Room and Saw Shop.
- High School Diploma or GED required;
technical training or certifications preferred. - 2–3 years of experience in a tool room, machine shop, or related environment
. - Prior leadership or supervisory experience is a plus.
- Strong knowledge of hand tools, machining equipment, and shop safety standards
. - Proficient in inventory management systems and basic computer applications (Excel, Word, email).
- Excellent communication and organizational skills.
- Strong attention to detail, reliability, and problem‑solving ability.
- Basic math skills required (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division).
