POSITION ANNOUNCEMENT
Position: Substitute Bus Driver – District Employee Assigned to Pryor Campus
Non-Exempt, Support, Substitute, 10-month Staff
Starting Date: As needed
Reports to: Maintenance Supervisor
Schedule: Monday through Friday, hours will be intermittent and vary depending upon the assigned bus route. Supervisor retains the right to adjust the work schedule and job description/duties based on the needs of the district.
Wage: $33.80
Responsibilities- Drive a bus and transport students safely between Northeast Technology Center and partner high schools, up to three times per day as directed.
- Perform daily bus inspections (pre-trip and post-trip) and keep the bus clean and orderly.
- Maintain safety and comply with applicable state guidelines and school district policies.
- Follow routes and schedules; assist with in-transit order; evacuations as required; other duties as assigned by Supervisor or Administrator.
- Education:
High school diploma or GED preferred. - Experience/Certification:
Must hold a current Oklahoma School Bus Driver’s Certificate and a valid Commercial Driver’s License (air brake endorsement preferred); pass background checks and DOT medical/drug testing; strong communication and interpersonal skills; able to lift 40 pounds; able to work with students; computer skills preferred.
- Annual health certificate; random drug/alcohol/DOT testing as required.
- Criminal background check and proof of citizenship or legal residency.
- Ability to work with irregular hours and extended days as needed.
