Warehouse Material Handler / Forklift Operator / CDL Driver
The role is responsible for picking loads, loading trailers, staging product for pickup, pulling product, moving product with lift truck/turret truck within the warehouse, operating yard trucks and inter‑warehouse over‑the‑road semi‑tractor trailers, and performing related material handling duties.
Responsibilities- Move product from staging area to designated area within the warehouse.
- Drive lift truck/turret trucks or yard trailers as required.
- Maintain row tags for material staged on the floor.
- Operate forklift safely at all times and perform a safety check before each shift.
- Inspect all pallets for accuracy regarding weight and correctness.
- Load racks in the warehouse with finished goods.
- Maintain proper housekeeping while performing duties.
- Assist wherever needed and work overtime when required.
- Adhere to attendance guidelines, company policies, procedures, and safety guidelines.
Takes reasonable care for their own health and safety and for the health and safety of others. Authorized to stop work when a perceived unsafe condition or behavior may result in an unwanted event. Understands and actively participates in the company’s EHS policy, goals, and objectives.
EssentialPhysical Requirements
- Sitting to drive a truck as required up to 100% of the workday.
- Standing and walking up to 70% of the workday.
- Reaching with hands and arms up to 75% of the workday.
- Climbing or balancing up to 25% of the workday.
- Kneeling, stooping, crouching or crawling up to 10% of the workday.
- Bending, twisting, reaching and leaning up to 100% of the workday.
- Talking to communicate with direct reports up to 100% of the workday.
- Hearing to communicate with direct reports up to 100% of the workday.
- Using arms to grasp, handle and type up to 75% of the workday.
- Must be able to exert 60 pounds of force occasionally (less than 1/3 of time); up to 40 pounds of force occasionally; up to 30 pounds of force regularly (more than 2/3 of the total time).
High school diploma or equivalent (GED) preferred. CDL License required.
ExperienceMinimum 1 year of over‑the‑road experience and six months in a shipping/warehouse environment.
Special Skills- Understand methods of shipping/loading requirements, weight requirements, and customers’ special instructions.
- Must be detail oriented.
- Good math skills are a plus.
