Position Overview
This hybrid position supports the administrative activities of the Colorado Water Conservation Board (CWCB) and reception responsibilities for the DNR Executive Director’s Office (EDO). The role primarily performs front‑desk duties and assists with various administrative tasks including word processing, spreadsheets, filing, scheduling, and financial processing using the CORE system. The position also coordinates travel, vehicle logistics, and imaging. Valid driver’s license required and ability to walk 1–2 miles is necessary.
Responsibilities- Perform front‑desk duties including reception, mail, telephone handling, visitor guidance.
- Assist with administrative tasks such as word processing, spreadsheets, filing, function planning, conference‑room reservation, and board‑meeting preparation.
- Support CWCB in financial, administrative, travel, imaging functions, including Colorado Water Plan projects.
- Process agency financial payments in the CORE system (invoices, transfers, encumbrances).
- Act as travel coordinator, vehicle coordinator, and arrange vehicle maintenance.
- Follow imaging guidelines to scan documents and serve as the Laserfiche resource advisor.
- Two (2) years of general clerical experience, with at least one (1) year in a professional office setting, including data entry, database and spreadsheet utilization, and word‑processing skills.
- OR a combination of education and experience equivalent to two (2) years (Bachelors = four years, Masters = two years, Doctorate = one year). Acceptable degrees: accounting, business administration, economics or a closely related field.
- Current or former State experience relevant to this position.
- Experience in fleet coordination, travel, and meeting arrangements.
- Experience processing invoices and procurement documents with an electronic payment system.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Google Suite.
- Significant customer‑service experience.
- Knowledge of Laserfiche or document imaging processes.
- Excellent analytical, planning, organizational, problem‑solving, and time‑management skills.
- Proficiency in Google Suite, Microsoft Word, and Excel.
- Proficiency in email usage.
- Strong interpersonal skills.
- Expert oral and written communication skills.
- Strong organizational skills and attentiveness to detail.
- Proactive problem‑solving and decision‑making capability.
- Team‑player, independent effectiveness.
- Ability to handle confidential information with discretion.
- Colorado residency required at time of application.
- Former State employees must have concluded employment in good standing to be eligible for rehire.
- Current valid driver’s license required.
- Must pass a background check.
- Willing and able to exert up to 20 lbs. as needed.
