Compliance And Publication Coordinator

The Compliance and Publication Coordinator provides professional and technical support for the safe operations of the assigned facility and correctional policies and procedures according to the Colorado Department of Corrections (CDOC) philosophy. Designs, develops, and applies principles of strategic planning to ensure compliance with operational standards. Ensure compliance with all applicable laws, legal actions, and orders, which requires strong working relationships with partners;

provide a broad range of activities, including interpreting applications of laws, regulations, Colorado Code of Penal Discipline (COPD), and Compliance standards. This position serves as the facility policy coordinator and plans, organizes and directs the facility self-inspection program. Responsibilities include monitoring facility policies to ensure adherence to compliance standards, conducting audits of facility operations through analysis and visual inspection to compare practice to facility policy;

and preparing results and making recommendations to the administrative head. Collects, compiles, drafts, and analyzes information, collaborates with supervisors and facility management teams, and recommends plans of action to meet compliance standards. Reviews, proposes changes and makes revisions to policy and procedure. Publishes, updates, and distributes policy updates and compliance standards updates on behalf of the administrative head.

Primary job duties and responsibilities include but are not limited to:

• Function as the facility policy coordinator by setting policy committee reviews, publishing and distributing drafts and final documents.
• Manage facility implementation adjustments (IA's) and operational memorandums (OM's) by reviewing, revising and recommending changes to the administrative head to ensure compliance with departmental standards and regulations, and applicable State and federal laws.
• Ensure updates to facility IA's, OM's, and administrative regulations (AR's) are effectively communicated to the facility employees and the incarcerated population.
• Establish and maintain cooperative relationships with stakeholders by exchanging information and assisting with resolving issues with AR's, standards and procedures.
• Continually keeps the administrative head apprised of issues as it relates to policies, procedures, standards and AR's. Will make recommendations for plans of action or policy updates to ensure adherence to compliance standards.
• Conduct regular inspections of their assigned facility to validate adherence to compliance standards. This is accomplished by collecting, evaluating, and validating the information received from work units as well as visually verifying the practice in the work units matches the applicable policies.
• Audit correctional facilities in person through Internal Compliance Audits to determine adherence to compliance standards, AR's, IA's and applicable laws.
• Conduct monthly inspections throughout all areas of the facility to ensure sanitation, chemical control and tool control practices are being followed in accordance with policy and compliance standards.
