Heavy Equipment Operator

We are seeking a skilled Equipment Operator to join our Street, Road, Highway, and Heavy Civil Construction team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for earth-moving operations with a variety of heavy equipment. This key role must be pushed to ensure construction projects are completed on time and within budget.

• Operates construction, excavation, and demolition equipment including excavators, front-end loaders, and skid steers.
• Ability to load dump trucks with broken concrete utilizing an excavator or front-end loader.
• The ability to break concrete with an excavator with the hydraulic breaker.
• Operate machinery used to build and/or demolish bridges, buildings, and highways.
• Inspects and fuels equipment before beginning shift.
• Communicate clearly with dispatches and supervisors
• Perform routine maintenance checks and report needed repairs.
• Performs other related duties as assigned.

• Extensive knowledge of heavy machinery operation and capabilities.
• Excellent mechanical skills.
• Ability to follow instructions.
• Knowledge of proper operation of heavy equipment as well as safety standards.

• Experience:
  • Construction : 4+ years Preferred Equipment Operator
  • General Roadway, Highway, or Heavy Civil for 2+ years as Heavy Equipment Operator
• Education:
  • High school Diploma or GED
  • Equivalent work experience will be considered.
• Physical Requirements:
  • Prolonged periods of operating heavy machinery.
  • Able to work long periods including evenings and weekends when necessary.
  • Must be able to operate machinery in all weather conditions and terrains.
  • Must be able to lift 50 pounds at a time.
  • Valid Colorado Driver’s License with a safe driving record
  • Ability to analyze problems and create solutions that add value to the client and the company.

• Pay: $28 – $35 per hour
• Job Type: Full-time
