Position: Instructor, Music (Pueblo/Fremont)
Pueblo Community College is accepting applications for its part-time instructor pool for Academic Year  (Fall, Spring and Summer terms).

Instructors may teach a full 16-week term, an abbreviated term, or limited hours, depending on the discipline or subject.  Qualified applicants will be contacted only when a need is identified.

This application expires on June 30, 2026, and a new application must be submitted for consideration the following academic year.

Pueblo Community College is not able to provide sponsorship for applicants who do not currently have the legal right to work in the United States or require transfer of a visa.

An instructor must be a resident of Colorado or reside in Colorado on the first day of employment.

An applicant may redact any information on an unofficial transcript that reveals years of attendance, date of graduation, or age.

Pay is $52.92 per lecture hour or $36.35 per lab hour.  Instructors are hired as temporary employees and are not eligible for medical or dental benefits. However, instructor hours are measured annually to determine potential eligibility for medical benefits the following plan year.

Increase the artistic and cultural awareness of our students across the range of their studies. The Department of Fine Arts and Humanities at Pueblo Community College strives to provide learning experiences that respect the diversity of our students.

Job Summary Statement:

This position specifically exists to provide classroom, laboratory, or related instruction under the supervision of the Department Chair and is responsible for planning and providing student instruction in accordance with approved syllabi, curriculum guidelines, and required program standards.  Instructor must adhere to the laws, policies, procedures, rules, and applications which govern and affect the college, including the fiscal rules of the State of Colorado.

Absences will be minimal and only for appropriate cause; notification of Department Chair is required.  Instructor must work with the Faculty Chair to provide coverage or obtain approval for class cancelation according to PCC policy.  Refer to PCC Operational Procedures and Protocols for further information.

Instructors are expected to model professionalism in dress, action, and communication.  Accordingly, instructors are obliged to respond professionally to constructive feedback and to follow the chain of command in resolving conflicts.

* Teaches courses as assigned within instructor workload guidelines.

* Meets all scheduled classes.

* Provides adequate preparation of course material.

* Ensures compliance with classroom safety procedures.

* Submits student grades within required timelines.

* Works independently with little supervision or as part of a team.

* Communicates effectively with students, colleagues, and others.

* Interacts professionally and respectfully with students, colleagues, and others.

* Assesses individual and department work processes and recommends improvements.

* Complies with State Fiscal Rules, State Board policies, System and College protocols, and departmental procedures.

* Obtains and maintains proficiency with required systems and equipment.

* Maintains confidentiality of student and employee information as required.

* Completes all required compliance training within the established timeline.

Education

* Master's Degree with at least 18 graduate credit hours in Music

Experience

* At least 2 years of experience teaching music in higher education

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities

* Knowledge of best practices in teaching music and related subjects.

* Proficiency with Microsoft Office; working knowledge of Ellucian Banner.

* Able to lift 15 pounds.

* Able to read and communicate in English.

* Mobility around campus.
