Responsibilities

General Description:

Monitor student behavior in “In‑School Detention” classroom and after school detention, complete paperwork on PC, input information, contact parent(s)/guardian(s), maintain files on students in program, work in cooperation with teachers, administrators, program director, and support staff. Perform any and all other responsibilities as assigned by Supervisor.

Qualifications

Required:

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Previous experience working with young adults
  • Must be 21 years of age or older at the time of hire

Preferred:

  • Demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Office
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively
  • Demonstrated ability to maintain records and prepare standard reports
  • Demonstrated good telephone skills
  • Demonstrated ability to maintain strict confidentiality in all aspects of assignments
  • Demonstrated ability and willingness to work with high school level students with minor discipline problems
  • Demonstrated organizational ability and effective time management
  • Previous experience working with at‑risk students
  • College coursework in education or related field

Contract Terms

Hourly Position – 7 hours a day Monday through Thursday. Hours to be determined by Principal. Hourly Employee Salary Schedule. Benefits – None.
