SUMMARYThe Elementary Math Specialist coordinates and facilitates implementation of district instructional programs, emphasizing 21st‑century skills. Responsibilities include designing curricular and assessment components, supporting teachers with lesson planning, classroom management, and professional development, and implementing best practices through demonstration lessons, observations, reflective sessions, PLC facilitation, and professional development activities.
QUALIFICATIONSRequired:
- Valid Colorado Teaching License within 60 days of hire.
- Endorsement/certificate in the assigned area.
- Five (5) years of successful teaching experience in an instructional area.
- Valid Colorado Driver License.
- Completed a fingerprint‑based criminal background check cleared by Human Resources.
- Effective written and verbal English communication with proper grammar and vocabulary.
Preferred:
- Master's Degree in education or related field.
- Valid Colorado Principal or Administrator License.
- In‑depth understanding of state standards, curriculum, and assessment programs with emphasis in Mathematics.
- Demonstrated success using data to improve instruction.
- Experience preparing and presenting high‑quality, research‑based professional development.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills within the district and with the community.
- Organizational and planning skills for setting short‑term and long‑term goals and coordinating efforts.
- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to build trusting, collaborative relationships.
- Initiative in working independently and with groups.
- Approachable, professional manner with colleagues and staff.
- Organizational, decision‑making, and team‑collaboration abilities.
- Ability to identify, acquire, and organize resources to support teachers and schools.
- Direct contact with classroom teachers: reviewing data, co‑planning, co‑teaching, real‑time coaching, modeling best practices.
- Knowledge of developing scope and sequence and assessment documents.
- Integrating technology into instructional practices and programs.
- Employing diverse instructional techniques and strategies aligned with objectives for all students.
- Perform assigned job duties as directed by supervisor.
- Coach teacher leaders, teachers (regular/special education), and administrators on district intervention programming, pedagogy, and improved instruction.
