Salary: Salary for this position is $60,500 and may be up to 5% higher depending on relevant experience, education, and certifications when compared to others doing substantially similar work. While all offers are compliant with the Colorado Equal Pay for Equal Work Act, there is no guarantee that an offer will be above this value. This is a grant‑funded position with no expectation of employment beyond the end of the grant.
Job SummaryThe TRIO Upward Bound Program prepares eligible high school students for higher education and assists them to prepare for, enter, and graduate from college.
Duties & Responsibilities Essential Functions- Oversees the recruitment and retention efforts for the TRIO Upward Bound grant by coordinating presentations and providing information on program requirements to target school principals, counselors, teachers, students and parents in order to actively recruit and retain program participants for the program.
- Remains current on best practices and new strategies to ensure participant retention.
- Initiates and coordinates student advising process for all new and continuing TRIO UB students.
- Develop curriculum, coordinate and facilitate workshops and seminars for participants to gain skills and knowledge in career fields, leadership, character development, financial literacy, lifelong learning, cultural diversity, transfer and articulation agreements, career planning, and college preparation.
- Advises and informs students and parents.
- Prepares and maintains accurate accounting records for all expenditures requested in advisement, recruitment and retention and service‑learning activities provided to UB participants and ensures that guidelines outlined in the federal TRIO program regulations, EDGAR, OMB Super Circular, and procedures set by CCCS and PCC are strictly followed.
- Coordinate, facilitate, and serve as staff chaperone and supervisor during college campus visits, service‑learning events, cultural enrichment activities, and summer residential and non‑residential programming provided to program participants both in‑state and out‑of‑state.
- Assist with outreaches to grant stakeholder programs to eliminate duplication of services to ensure participants have access to additional opportunities to enhance knowledge and skill levels.
- Assist with the planning, coordinating and facilitation of academic and summer program components for participants as outlined in grant.
- Establish, coordinate, and maintain contact with area high schools, colleges, universities and community partners to build strong, positive working relationships and partnerships to effectively provide intentional and intrusive advising services for all UBMS participants.
- Assist TRIO UB staff interview, evaluate, and select qualified participants for the program.
- Manage grant databases by entering student and program advising data into the Student Access database.
- Assist with the longitudinal data collection for reporting in the Annual Performance Report for submission to the United States Department of Education for all current and prior participants.
- Prepare and present monthly statistical student and program data for staff meetings and quarterly reports for Grant Partner Steering Committee reporting purposes and real‑time decision making.
- Participate in community or professional organizations in support of TRIO Upward Bound Program students, parents, objectives, and partnerships.
- Manage TRIO Upward Bound communications and club communications and all activities associated with the club.
- Supervise, train, and evaluate performance of student and non‑student hourly employees including instructors, tutors, and front office staff.
- Works independently with little supervision or as part of a team.
- Communicates effectively with students, colleagues, and others.
