The position’s preferred qualifications:
Bachelor’s or advanced degree in Early Childhood Education or related field from an accredited college or university
2+ years working in an educational/early childhood/extended care setting with students ages 3-5 y.o.
Possesses and is willing to maintain Standard Precautions, First Aid, CPR, 15 hours of Professional Development, and any other requirements dictated by our license
The knowledge, skills, and abilities required for the PreK Assistant Teacher position:
The PreK Assistant Teacher will need to create a positive and vibrant learning environment for students. The preferred candidate will have a strong desire to see their craft improve and evolve. The ideal candidate will possess a growth mindset and share their expertise openly with others.
The PreK teacher candidate will:
- Support classroom teachers by completing tasks as directed
- Maintain and support a positive, mission-appropriate climate suitable for ages 3 to 5-year-olds
- Assist PreK students before, during, and after rest time, encouraging self-help skills
- Provide direct supervision on the playground to ensure the safety of all students
- Adhere to all policies and procedures mandated by the Colorado Department of Human Services, Health Department, and CSS
- Apply basic tenets of RULER, Heggerty, Learning Without Tears, and other CSS-approved methodologies in the supervision of children (may require attending professional development opportunities during the school's opening week and throughout the school year)
- Facilitate the development of a positive class culture that supports learning and personal growth
- Appreciate and support varying learning abilities
- Be energized by working with young children
- Be able to handle stress well Adhere to the standards described in the Employee Handbook
- Perform other duties as assigned by the Lead Teacher, Director of Early Childhood, and Associate Head of School for Academics
Salary Range: $40,000 - $45,000 annually, based upon skills and experience, excellent benefits package.
