Chemistry Instructor
The CSU-Pueblo Chemistry Department offers a degree certified by the American Chemical Society (ACS) and stresses excellence in teaching. The Chemistry Department is a Colorado Commission of Higher Education designated Program of Excellence with a substantial array of instrumentation including FT NMR (2), GCMS (3), GC-FID (3), AFM, LCMS, LCMSMS, ICP-MS, UV-Vis, HPLC, SEM and FTIR (2). Faculty and students are active in both undergraduate and master's level research.
Responsibilities of this non-tenure track, nine month (with summer teaching possibly available) position include teaching 12 credit hours per semester in chemistry courses; holding regular office hours for students; fulfilling basic service duties to program, college, university and/or profession. It is anticipated that the successful candidate will teach general and introductory chemistry courses and labs and likely have the opportunity to teach upper division courses in their area of specialty.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Earned doctoral degree in chemistry or related field
- Demonstrated teaching effectiveness in university level chemistry
Preferred Qualifications:
- Previous experience teaching lower and upper division chemistry courses
- Experience providing instruction using multiple pedagogical approaches
- Previous experience assessing student learning
- Previous experience teaching in a regional comprehensive university
