Stream Teacher - Grant Funded

The primary responsibility of the STREAM (Science, Technology, Reading, Engineering, Arts, and Mathematics) Teacher is to plan, organize, and implement an appropriate instructional program in an elementary or secondary learning environment that guides and encourages students to develop and fulfill their academic potential. The STREAM Teacher is responsible for developing and delivering engaging interdisciplinary instruction that integrates STREAM content through innovative, project-based, and inquiry-driven approaches.

The STREAM Teacher will be a part of the elective wheel providing students with STREAM related Project Based experiences.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

  • Valid Colorado Teaching License within 60 days from date of hire
  • Science, Technology, Reading, Engineering, Art, or Mathematics Endorsement or Elementary Education Endorsement
  • Employee must complete a fingerprint-based criminal background check and must be cleared by the Office of Human Resources
  • Three (3) years of successful teaching experience in elementary education
  • Must be able to communicate effectively in English, both orally and in writing, using proper grammar and vocabulary

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in integrated STREAM instruction, project-based learning, or makerspace facilitation.
  • Knowledge of Colorado Academic Standards in core subjects and Next Generation Science Standards (NGSS).
  • Familiarity with design thinking, engineering practices, or creative arts integration.
  • 3-5 years successful teaching as demonstrated by references, evaluations and student growth data
  • Experience implementing effective literacy instruction including foundational skills and comprehension strategies
  • Experience using Common Core State standards to plan instruction.
  • Experience with a blended learning model or a desire to learn
  • Experience with AVID implementation or a desire to learn
  • Experience in a Title I setting or low income setting
  • Experience with Teach Like A Champion Strategies
  • Successful experience implementing strong classroom routines and procedures demonstrated by references and evaluations
  • Experience with STEM based educational philosophy and instructional practices.
Job Expectations

Deep understanding of interdisciplinary teaching that connects science, technology, reading, engineering, arts, and mathematics. Ability to design and deliver engaging hands-on learning experiences and STREAM units that support student creativity and innovation. Knowledge of developmentally appropriate practices and differentiation strategies for K-5 learners. Strong organizational and classroom management skills to support collaboration, inquiry, and safe exploration. Technological proficiency, including familiarity with coding, robotics, digital design, and virtual learning tools.

Strong communication and interpersonal skills to foster relationships with students, staff, and families. Establish clear classroom routines and procedures that create a positive student-centered learning environment. Utilize data from a variety of sources to collaboratively plan and adapt instruction. Submit lesson plans for feedback and support. Implement evidenced-based instructional practices that build student knowledge and skills across a variety of content areas.
