QUALIFICATIONS

Required:

  • Prior Administrator experience
Preferred
  • Knowledge of research based instructional practices
  • Knowledge of current educational research
  • Experience with APEX
  • Understands and uses current technology
  • Knowledge of learning styles and working with adults
  • Effective written and oral communication skills
  • Ability to utilize data to inform instructional decisions

Job Description
  • Monitoring attendance of the Summer School Staff and Students
  • Monitoring and addressing student behavior
  • Supervising the Staff and Teachers at each site
  • Procuring substitutes as needed for teacher absences during Summer School
  • Submitting data required based on the timeline provided by Learning Service Department
  • Submitting reports as required based on the time provided by Learning Service Department
  • Attending all Summer School Administrator meetings prior to and during Summer School
  • Completing walkthroughs of classrooms
  • Working with the Building Principal to secure the needed classrooms/media/technology for the Summer School
  • Ensuring all material orders are submitted to the office of Secondary Education according to the timeline
  • Coordinating with transportation regarding bus schedules, student lists, stops, and behavior issues
  • Hiring summer school staff
  • Transcribing student grades
  • Planning and Implementing High School Summer School Graduation
  • All other responsibilities of a Summer School Administrator as assigned
Summer School Timeline

June 8 through July 17, 2026 (5 weeks, 4 days a week Monday-Thursday, 8 hours per day)

Summer School Schedule

Student Orientation:
June 10/11, 2026 from 8:00 a.m.

- 3:30 p.m.

Students:
June 15 - July 16, 2026 (excluding July 2, 2026)

Teachers:
June 9 - July 16, 2026 (excluding July 2, 2026)

Administrators:
June 8 - July 17, 2026 (excluding July 2, 2026)

Graduation:
July 16, 2026 at 6:00 p.m. at South High School
