Where Is The Work:
On‑Site (5 days).
The Quality Engineer III will administer the Quality Management System, focusing on Process Quality and Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP) requirements, and will collaborate with Manufacturing Engineering, Operations, Program Management, NPD, and Supply Chain to deliver quality solutions.
Responsibilities- Owner of process quality improvement and control for the responsible area.
- Ensure quality at the source by utilizing controls through measurements and detection methods.
- Create and drive implementation of continuous improvement actions to prevent process defects.
- Perform internal product & process audits.
- Create, maintain, and update Control Plans and audit for improvements.
- Assist in updating PFMEAs for product or process changes.
- Champion reduction of customer complaints, DPPM, and warranty costs.
- Evaluate drawings and engineering standards, including critical dimensions.
- Perform data analysis on non‑conforming material, warranty, escapes, and others.
- Drive continuous improvement for all elements of the Quality System.
- Support lean initiatives and problem‑solving methodologies (5S, RIE, SQDIP, MDI, 9‑step).
- Ensure compliance with quality standards, BOS, and engineering standards.
- Support manufacturing assembly and test cells to maximize product quality.
- Support launch of new products through Early Launch Containment.
- Maintain ISO 9001 audit compliance.
- Keep Method Sheets, visual aids, formats, and quality records updated according to Trane QMS.
- Ensure documentation compliance with FPY, COPQ, DPPM, calibration and corrective actions using 6‑sigma, SPC, A3.
- Monitor SQDIP/MDI boards, complaints, CARs, and SCARs.
- Supervise hourly team members in inspection, gauging, metrology, interns, and students.
- Manage pressure vessel code compliance programs (ASME, PED, TSSA).
- Drive process change projects in line with value stream mapping.
- Bachelor’s Degree preferred; relevant work experience considered.
- Minimum five years of quality‑related experience in an industrial manufacturing environment.
- Leadership or project‑management experience of at least one to two years.
- Experience with Process Flow Charts, PFMEA, and Control Plan.
- Certified APQP Specialist or Certified Quality Engineer preferred.
- Experience with problem‑solving tools (9‑Step, 8D, A3, SPS).
- Strong organizational and multitasking skills.
