Environmental Project Manager – Denver, Colorado

Bhate () is seeking to fill a position for an Environmental Project Manager in Denver, CO. As a Project Manager, you will lead and manage complex environmental projects from start to finish, managing teams, projects, and delivering quality results. Job Duties and Responsibilities:
- Support investigation, characterization, and remediation work at contaminated sites, including CERCLA, RCRA, or other properties.
- Report directly to the program manager and manage staff and subcontractors on environmental projects—fieldwork oversight and management, environmental document development and preparation, project budget management, and proposal development.
- Ensure deliverables are completed on time and to high quality standards.
- Travel and field work may be required on various projects in the U.S. and internationally, with travel up to 25% of the time and field mobilizations averaging two weeks.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Effective oral and written communication skills, including technical writing and Microsoft Office software.
- Creative problem‑solving skills.
- Working knowledge of environmental sampling, boring logging, O&M of remediation systems, groundwater monitoring well placement and installation, and other environmental activities.
- Ability to manage multiple projects or issues simultaneously.
Minimum Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Geology or applicable Engineering.
- 10 years’ experience with environmental characterization or remediation work; 5 or more years managing tasks or projects.
- Team leadership and management skills with attention to quality, time management, efficiency, and mentoring.
- Advanced technical writing skills and ability to produce technical environmental documents.
- Proven experience managing projects; directing and overseeing work by others to meet quality and time standards.
- Experience working with the Federal Government, e.g., DoD, EPA, or USACE.
Qualifications:
Candidates should have a strong geologic or environmental background, proven experience solving problems, working alone or with a team, managing time for self and others, and a positive, collaborative work performance. The candidate must travel regularly, perform field mobilizations averaging two to three weeks, and have the physical capability to perform environmental sampling or other activities. The Environmental Project Manager will have proven experience running quality environmental projects within budget and on time, mentoring and managing direct reports, and a working knowledge of Federal Government environmental project requirements.

Preferred Qualifications:
- Professional registration in area of discipline, e.g., PE, PG, PMP.
- Capability to perform physical field work.
- Valid U.S. passport and ability to travel internationally.
- Ability to access Department of Defense properties based on a background check.
- OSHA 40‑Hour HAZWOPER training, CPR, and Adult First Aid.
- Located in the Denver, CO area.
