Program (Product) Engineer II

Responsibilities- Collaborates with plant and engineering staff to identify possible chemical or materials engineering tool-related problems.
- Designs and plans layout of equipment to optimize chemical and materials engineering processes.
- Monitors ongoing production and troubleshoots problems associated with all assigned aircraft programs.
- Performs laboratory studies of manufacturing steps for new products and tests proposed processes in small‑scale operations such as a pilot plant to ensure feasibility and viability.
- Determines appropriate methods for fabricating and joining materials to develop and optimize materials for engineering design.
- Monitors material performance and evaluates material deterioration to ensure required specifications are met.
- Designs, develops, and tests metallic and non‑metallic structures or materials and their related fabrication processes for use in engineering designs.
- Researches and develops new and improved chemical manufacturing processes.
- Analyzes, researches, designs, and develops materials and their related fabrication and application processes for use in engineering designs of structures, systems, and subsystems.
- Performs material analyses, including failure analysis of components, systems, and subsystems, life predictions, and definitions of requirement specifications.
- Applies principles of chemistry, physics, and material behavior to develop processing specifications, fabrication, and assembly processes for metallic, nonmetallic, and composite materials.
- May review and approve material processing procedures.
- Leads continuous improvement initiatives aimed at reducing cost and process variation.
- Serves as liaison interdepartmentally within Pueblo regarding production issues associated with aircraft programs.
- Liaison between Troy, other carbon sites, and Pueblo regarding support and information associated with aircraft programs.
- Maintains and/or writes specifications and drawings for all assigned aircraft programs at the AMF level and below.
- Participates in continuous improvement activities and other duties as assigned.
- Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) and a minimum of 2 years of relevant experience, or an advanced degree in a related field.
- Experience as a chemical, process, or product engineer.
- Formal education in Chemical or Material Science Engineering.
- 2–5 years of experience in a chemical manufacturing engineering environment.
- Aerospace manufacturing experience.
- Aircraft program and/or project management experience.
- Data mining experience.
- Experience in technical writing and management presentations.
$68,900 – $131,100 USD
