Position Description

ENSCO is seeking an experienced Environmental Health & Safety (EHS) Specialist to support environmental compliance, occupational safety, emergency management, and regulatory compliance programs at the Transportation Technology Center (TTC). Reporting to the Manager of Safety, Health, Environmental & Emergency Services, this position serves as a Hazardous Materials Emergency Responder and Hazardous Waste Technician while supporting OSHA, environmental, and railroad safety programs.

The incumbent will work independently to administer compliance programs, conduct inspections and investigations, coordinate corrective actions, maintain regulatory records, support emergency response, and deliver EHS training to employees, contractors, and customers.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Support development, implementation, and continuous improvement of environmental, health, safety, emergency management, and regulatory compliance programs.
  • Administer SPCC, RCRA, EPCRA, stormwater, industrial wastewater, pollution prevention, and UST/AST compliance programs.
  • Conduct environmental inspections and hazardous waste inspections; maintain permits, records, and regulatory reports.
  • Coordinate hazardous waste collection, storage, transportation, recycling, and disposal activities.
  • Respond to hazardous materials incidents and coordinate spill response, cleanup, investigations, and reporting.
  • Maintain chemical inventory systems and prepare required EPCRA reporting.
  • Support OSHA and railroad safety programs including LOTO, Confined Space, Hot Work, Railroad Worker Protection, PPE, and contractor safety.
  • Conduct incident investigations, root cause analyses, corrective actions, and trend reviews.
  • Develop and deliver EHS training and participate in emergency drills and exercises.
  • Support emergency preparedness, fire prevention, and mutual aid operations.
  • Conduct audits, inspections, and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications Required
  • Minimum five (5) years of environmental, occupational safety, hazardous waste, or EHS experience in an industrial, railroad, manufacturing, utility, mining, or similarly regulated environment OR Bachelor's or equivalent with 2+ years of directly related experience.
  • Working knowledge of RCRA, SPCC, EPCRA, stormwater, industrial wastewater, OSHA, and related regulations.
  • Experience with hazardous materials response and spill management.
  • OSHA 40-hour HAZWOPER (or ability to obtain).
  • OSHA 10-Hour certification.
  • RCRA Hazardous Waste training.
  • Forklift and Confined Space certification (or ability to obtain).
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and electronic EHS management systems.
  • Ability to work independently and communicate effectively with all levels of the organization.
  • Ability to work outdoors, climb ladders, walk uneven terrain, lift up to 50 pounds, and participate in emergency response.
  • Ability to pass e-RAILSAFE requirements and applicable pre-employment/random drug and alcohol testing.
