Job Description
Position Summary
Under the guidance of the Executive Director (ED), you'll plan, coordinate, supervise, and manage the Life Enrichment (LE) Department-bringing joy and purpose to the lives of our community members! You'll identify the therapeutic and recreational needs of individuals and create vibrant programs that make a real difference. As a key member of the Leadership team, you'll also guide and develop assigned staff through hiring, scheduling, performance management, and training.
You'll champion the LE budget and embrace manager-on-duty responsibilities, including weekends.
Essential Duties
* Create Meaningful Magic:
Design and implement engaging activities tailored to each participant's unique interests and needs-making every day count!
* Build Bridges:
Collaborate across departments through ongoing communication and teamwork to ensure seamless program integration.
* Champion Compliance:
Ensure all statutory and regulatory requirements are met with excellence and attention to detail.
* Spot & Serve:
Recognize special needs within our resident population and develop innovative programs to address them.
* Spread the Word:
Develop, maintain, and post a dynamic monthly calendar of events that gets everyone excited about what's coming.
* Mobilize Volunteers:
Harness the power of volunteers to amplify the impact of our life enrichment programs.
* Manage Resources Wisely:
Oversee the LE budget, coordinate purchases, and maintain supplies and equipment to keep programs running smoothly.
* Get to Know Everyone:
Conduct thoughtful initial assessments with all new participants to understand their therapeutic and recreational needs.
* Hit the Road:
Drive the community bus for scenic adventures and large group outings-creating memories on wheels!
* Lead with Heart:
Interview, hire, develop, and supervise assigned staff with compassion and professionalism, following company performance management standards.
* Stay Flexible:
Take on additional duties as assigned to support our mission.
Qualifications
Basic Qualifications & Experience
* High School Diploma or equivalent. Bachelor's degree or equivalent certification preferred.
* 1-year experience in social or recreational programming.
* 1-year experience working with senior adults.
* Appropriate licensure to drive community bus.
* Ability to work with all residents and families to evaluate residents' needs.
* Must be able to read, write and speak the English language.
* Knowledgeable with computer applications;
Microsoft Office.
* Must possess excellent customer service skills.
