What We're Doing
Our Team, the C2
BMC Experimentation Lab (X-LAB), is engineering, developing and integrating new capability for the Missile Defense System that currently protects the United States and its allies. The team consists of many small agile teams that work together in a fast-paced and dynamic environment. Our team is also responsible for tasks such as Sensor/Weapon Integration, Algorithm Development, User Interface Development, Automated Testing, Cyber Security and enhancing other critical, leading-edge missile defense technologies.
We are seeking a detail-oriented and highly motivated System Administrator to join our team in Colorado Springs. This position will act as the first line of defense for user level interactions and issues and will primarily support users in person, secure phone, email or instant message (IM). The role is customer facing, requiring refined customer service skills in addition to IT skills.
The administrator will diagnose and troubleshoot issues with remote users on a daily basis, support MDA flight tests, focus on integration of R&D systems into C2
BMC, and contribute to other ongoing X-Lab projects as needed. The position may also involve around 10% travel to customer sites throughout the U.S. and occasional support of off-hours test events, including overnight or weekend work.
- Active Final SECRET clearance required prior to starting.
- Must possess DoD 8140 IAT Level II compliant certificate such as CompTIA Security+ CE or similar, and if not certified, must obtain within 90 days of starting.
- Experience with system administration in both Windows Server and Linux operating systems.
- Experience supporting users in an enterprise-level system, demonstrating ability to handle complex technical issues and provide effective solutions.
- Experience with a help desk ticketing system, such as Atlassian JIRA.
- Ability to develop documentation including SOPs of complex technical solutions using enterprise tools such as Atlassian Confluence.
- Familiarity with a scripting language such as Power Shell, Bash, or Python, and automation tools such as Ansible.
- Coding experience in an object-oriented language such as Java or Python is a plus.
The position is located at Schriever Space Force Base, 10 miles east of Colorado Springs, CO. The role is 100% onsite. The position may involve approximately 10% travel to customer sites and occasional off-hours support for test events, including overnight or weekend work.
Security ClearanceThis position requires a government security clearance at the Secret level and the candidate must be a U.S. citizen.
ShiftSchedule for this Position: 4x10 hour day, 3 days off per week.
Pay & BenefitsThe annual base salary range is $81,600 - $143,865, depending on location. The position is incentive plan eligible.
