Our Manufacturing client is seeking an experienced Environmental, Health & Safety (EHS) Manager to lead and strengthen our safety and environmental programs at our manufacturing facility. This role is responsible for ensuring regulatory compliance, driving a proactive safety culture, and leading a team of four EHS professionals in supporting a high-performance production environment.
The ideal candidate is hands‑on, data‑driven, and comfortable partnering closely with operations leadership. This individual must be capable of balancing strategic program development with daily floor presence and team leadership.
Key Responsibilities Leadership & Culture- Lead, mentor, and develop a team of 4 EHS professionals
- Promote a proactive safety culture across all shifts
- Partner with plant leadership to integrate safety into operational decision‑making
- Serve as the site safety leader and subject matter expert
- Ensure compliance with OSHA, EPA, state, and local regulations
- Maintain and update safety and environmental programs and policies
- Lead regulatory inspections and audits
- Oversee environmental compliance programs including air, water, waste, and hazardous materials management
- Lead incident investigations and root cause analysis
- Develop corrective and preventive action plans
- Manage workers’ compensation cases and return‑to‑work programs
- Oversee risk assessments (JSA, JHA, HAZOP where applicable)
- Maintain emergency response and preparedness plans
- Conduct regular safety audits and facility inspections
- Support new equipment installations and process changes
- Ensure compliance with LOTO, confined space, machine guarding, fall protection, and industrial hygiene programs
- Track and analyze safety metrics (TRIR, LTIR, near misses, etc.)
- Develop KPIs and dashboards for safety and environmental performance
- Identify trends and implement improvement initiatives
- Lead training programs for employees and supervisors
- Drive ISO 14001 / ISO 45001 initiatives if applicable
- Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Health & Safety, Engineering, or related field preferred
- 7+ years of EHS experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment
- 3+ years of leadership experience managing EHS personnel
- Strong knowledge of OSHA regulations and environmental compliance requirements
- Experience in high‑risk manufacturing environments preferred
- Professional certifications such as CSP, CIH, or CHMM are a plus
- Strong leadership and coaching skills
- Ability to influence across all levels of the organization
- Comfortably challenging unsafe behaviors or operational decisions
- Strong analytical and problem‑solving capabilities
