PositionSummary
Whether hired as Senior Manager or Director, this role is a hands-on operational leader responsible for the day-to-day execution of Bhakti’s supply chain, procurement, production planning, inventory management, 3PL and distributor fulfillment, vendor relationships, and operational systems.
This is a high-ownership, high-accountability role - not a coordinator or support function. This person will own outcomes across Bhakti’s end-to-end supply chain - from annual ingredient contracts and sourcing through production, quality control, inventory, 3PL management, and distributor fulfillment - so that Bhakti is never out of stock, or even close to being at risk of it, anywhere in the chain.
The role works closely with the CEO and Fractional COO/CFO, keeping them informed of status, risks, and decisions that need executive input, while independently driving all areas within its scope. An Operations Coordinator reports to this role, so the ideal candidate is an effective delegator and experienced manager who excels at prioritization in a lean, fast-paced environment - and is energized, not deterred, by the pace of a small, scrappy team.
Responsibilities are the same at both levels; the difference is depth of experience, independence, and strategic ownership. A Senior Manager hire has a clear path to Director, and the Director a clear path to COO as the business grows.
Senior Manager of Operations
- 6-8 years of progressive operations experience in CPG, food & beverage, or manufacturing, with 2-3+ years as a senior individual contributor or manager.
- Owns day-to-day execution within established plans and approval thresholds; brings well-supported recommendations to the CEO and Fractional COO/CFO.
- Has coordinated co-man production runs and owned inventory, production scheduling, and vendor follow-through; may be newer to leading major negotiations or setting strategy.
Director of Operations
- 8+ years of progressive operations experience, including 3+ years in management with direct ownership of co-manufacturer and supplier relationships.
- Everything above, plus ownership of operations strategy - building the annual operations plan and budget with the CEO, Fractional COO, and Fractional CFO.
- Leads supplier and co-man negotiations (with CEO sign-off); track record of cost reductions, scaling production or distribution, and building systems and SOPs from the ground up.
Supply Chain & Procurement
- Own end-to-end procurement of all ingredients and packaging, securing supply ahead of production and in full compliance with USDA Organic, Non-GMO, Fair Trade, and vegan requirements.
- Manage annual supply contracts and pricing agreements - contracted volumes, forward buys, release schedules, and renewals.
- Maintain the procurement calendar, track lead times, and share forecasts with suppliers; surface risks (single-source dependencies, lead time volatility, certification gaps) with mitigation plans.
- Own all certification documentation and bring fully evaluated new supplier options to leadership for approval.
