The primary responsibility of the Director of Nursing is to plan, coordinate and manage the nursing department in order to ensure that the highest level of patient care is provided and maintained.
PrimaryJob Duties And Responsibilities
- Ensures nursing department is compliant with federal, state, and local regulations
- Ensures patients records and reports are maintained up to federal, state, local and Company’s regulations
- Provides education and training for nursing staff on the Centers related policies and procedures
- Manages the Nursing department and staffing within the budget
- Makes written and oral reports/recommendations to the Administrator and HR as required concerning the operation of the nursing department
- Coordinates and participates in care plan meetings
- Handles complaints/issues in a timely manner
- Performs administrative duties as required by the position
- Monitor the facility’s survey reports and assist in developing plans of action to correct potential or identified problem areas
- Responsible for, in conjunction with HR, the recruitment and selection of Nursing Staff
- Must be a licensed RN, BSN preferred
- Preferred minimum 3 years’ experience in a leadership position in skilled nursing facility
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to have difficult conversations while maintaining compassion
- Must be self-motivated and have excellent follow-through
Have the ability to multi task and keep a calm demeanor even in chaotic situations - Must be able to maintain confidential information
