Position: Registered Nurse (RN)

Center Care Hospice is dedicated to working with patients and their loved ones as they deal with the reality of a life limiting illness. We are dedicated to focusing on comfort and symptom management while improving the quality of life in an atmosphere of dignity, compassion and hope.

We are looking to add a Pueblo or Colorado Springs Registered Nurse to our team who can fulfill a 7 day on / 7 day off schedule for nights and weekend coverage. Our service area covers Colorado Springs, Pueblo and Canon City.

The ideal candidate will be compassionate, empathetic and able to dedicate themselves to our goal of providing the highest quality of care that focuses on the patient’s physical, emotional and spiritual needs.

- Job Summary

Provide nursing care in the patient’s place of residency in accordance with current federal, state, and local standards, guidelines, and regulations that govern our organization, and as may be required by the Director of Nursing or designee.

RN
- Essential Job Functions
  • Administer services within the applicable scope of nursing practice
  • Determine the scope and frequency of services needed based on the acuity of the patient and the family/caregiver needs
  • Assess the ability of the caregiver to meet the patient’s needs upon admission and throughout care
  • Communicate with physicians, care team, patients and family members effectively
  • Consult with and educate the patient and family/caregiver regarding the disease process, self-care techniques and end of life care
  • Requisition and arrange for diagnostic and therapeutic services, as ordered by the physician, and in accordance with established procedures
  • Follow drug administration protocol, to include the disposal of drugs and narcotics as required, and in accordance with established procedures
  • Perform charting duties as required and in accordance with established charting and documentation policies and procedures and applicable state and federal regulations
  • Review care plans to verify that appropriate care is being rendered. Communicate to the care team
Qualifications

Must possess, as a minimum, a Nursing Degree from an accredited college or university, or be a graduate of an approved RN program.

Specific Requirements
  • Must possess a current, unencumbered, active RN license
  • Must have current CPR/BLS
  • Minimum 1 year of Hospice experience
  • Must have reliable transportation and proof of auto insurance coverage
  • Must pass a pre-employment background check and drug test
