Facility Information
State Forensic Psychiatric Hospital
Patients are court-ordered to reside in the facility
High-acuity forensic psychiatric environment serving adult and adolescent populations
Must be comfortable working with patients exhibiting significant behavioral challenges
Staff are required to participate in patient holds and physical restraints when necessary
Cerner-based charting system
Must have flexibility to work according to facility needs
Floating between all units is required
Schedules and unit assignments are determined by the facility and are not guaranteed
Requires 2+ years of psychiatric nursing experience, including at least 1 year of inpatient psych experience
The Psychiatric or Mental/Behavioral Health LPN is responsible and accountable for the application of the nursing process and the delivery of patient care in the psychiatric unit of a hospital, mental health/behavioral health hospital, or they can be responsible for care in community settings.
The LPN must demonstrate the ability to make clinical judgments in an effective and efficient manner with the supervision of a Registered Nurse and in collaboration with the care team.
Minimum Requirements:
- Current LPN license in state of assignment
- 1 year experience in a psychiatric care setting preferred
- Current CPR if applicable
- TB Questionnaire, PPD or chest x-ray if applicable
- Current Health certificate (per contract or state regulation)
- Must meet all federal, state and local requirements
- Must be at least 18 years of age
