Location: Northern Navajo Medical Center, Shiprock, NM

Job Type: Full-Time Contract

The Operating Room Registered Nurse (OR RN) provides professional nursing care in the Pre-Operative, Operating Room, PACU (Recovery), and Endoscopy units. The RN delivers safe, high-quality patient care while following IHS policies, nursing standards, and facility protocols.

• Perform pre-operative patient assessments and preparation.
• Verify patient identity, consent, allergies, medications, and laboratory results.
• Assist with circulating duties during surgical procedures.
• Maintain sterile technique and infection control practices.
• Monitor patients during post-anesthesia recovery and provide discharge education.
• Support endoscopy procedures before, during, and after treatment.
• Administer medications and IV therapy as ordered.
• Complete accurate and timely patient documentation.
• Collaborate with physicians, anesthesia providers, and healthcare teams.
• Participate in on‑call, weekend, holiday, and after‑hours coverage as assigned.

• Graduate of an accredited Nursing program.
• Active, unrestricted RN license in any U.S. State or Territory.
• Minimum 2 years of Operating Room nursing experience.
• Current BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications (AHA).

• Operating Room and PACU nursing
• Pre‑ and post‑operative patient care
• IV therapy and medication administration
• Sterile technique and infection prevention
• Electronic Medical Records (EMR)
• Strong communication, teamwork, and critical thinking skills

• Ability to pass background screening and medical clearance.
• Meet immunization requirements.
• Basic computer proficiency.
• Ability to work in a culturally diverse healthcare environment.
