American Traveler is hiring an ICU RN for a 13-week night shift assignment requiring critical care experience and a CO or compact RN license.
Details- 12-bed ICU in an acute care hospital setting
- Nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:2
- Night shift, 12-hour shifts
- 6-9 weekend shifts required within a 6-week schedule
- Self-scheduling and block scheduling available
- Holiday coverage required
- Call/standby requirements determined by nurse manager
- May float within Zone 1 facilities (Penrose, St Francis, St Francis Inter Quest, St Mary Corwin, St Thomas More) during extreme need, including to PCU/Stepdown and MS-Tele units
- RNs required to titrate drips including vasopressors, inotropes, sedatives, analgesics, metabolic, and specialized drips
- RNs read their own telemetry strips (Philips monitors), no dedicated tele techs
- 24/7 in-house RT support with CPAP, BiPAP, high flow, and vent equipment
- Hospitalist coverage in house
- Charge nurse carries a patient assignment
- Uses EPIC EMR
- Active RN license (CO state or Compact/NLC) required, pending licenses not accepted
- Current certifications: BLS (AHA), ACLS (AHA), and NIHSS, active at time of consideration
- Minimum 2 years of experience required
- Critical care experience required
- Must provide a copy of driver's license for consideration
- Two professional references required: one supervisor from within the last 12 months worked, and one peer or supervisor from within the last 3 years worked, including dates of employment and rehire eligibility
- Care for patients with conditions such as abdominal pain, chest pain, fever, cough, dyspnea, headache, injury, and extremity pain
- Must reside at least 60 miles from the facility
- Candidates must be in-state for the week of orientation, though first-day modules may be remote
- Navy blue scrub color required
- Candidates previously employed directly (full time, part time, or PRN) by any Common Spirit-affiliated facility, including CHI and/or Dignity, within the past year are not eligible; PRN employment through outside staffing firms will be considered
