VisitorServices Technician
A customer‑service based position that involves working in a visitor center or gate entrance, greeting visitors, or may be assigned to work in the field in specialized duties. Daily interaction with park visitors requires effective communication and public relations skills.
- Staff the park entrance station and/or the visitor center.
- Provide information and assistance to visitors, distribute maps and brochures, orient visitors to park facilities and amenities, promote education programs, and educate on State Park regulations.
- Provide information to the boating and non‑boating public.
- Sell park passes, permits, books, maps, clothing, firewood and other novelties.
- May sell gift certificates, search and rescue cards, boat registrations, OHV registrations, snowmobile registrations, fishing and hunting licenses.
- Operate a cash register.
- Answer telephones and transfer or take messages.
- Photocopy and file documents.
- Collect revenue, complete shift reports, and balance shift boxes at the end of each shift.
- May prepare campground reservation forms and documents.
- May document and report visitor complaints.
- Clean and perform light maintenance of the interior and exterior of gates, visitor centers, and offices, including litter pickup.
- May assist with special events or programs within the park.
- Other duties as assigned.
A customer‑service based position that involves inspecting for invasive Zebra/Quagga Mussels, Milfoil, or other plant species on boats and personal watercraft at an inspection point in the park. This role protects natural resources from non‑native species that threaten wildlife and water‑related recreation throughout Colorado.
- Staff the park ANS inspection station.
- Conduct physical boat inspections and boater interviews.
- Provide information and assistance to the boating public, distribute brochures, promote ANS education, and educate about State Park regulations.
- Perform cleaning and light maintenance duties of the interior and exterior of ANS inspection areas, including maintenance of facilities and grounds.
- Accurately count and record all boat inspections, either written or via phone application software.
- Receive training in boat inspection methods.
- May document and report visitor complaints.
- Other duties as assigned.
- May be required to work at the ANS station for an 8‑hour shift and take lunch at the station.
Responsible for all general park maintenance and cleaning of public facilities including restrooms, showers, vault toilets, campsites, picnic areas, trails, and more. Must be at least 16 years of age and able to lift 50–75 pounds repeatedly. Must be willing to work outside during inclement weather and capable of performing routine maintenance on State‑owned vehicles and equipment. Able to assist with carpentry, plumbing, masonry, electrical work, and transporting materials and supplies.
Performs other duties as assigned.
A customer‑service based position that involves greeting visitors, selling park passes, answering phones, counting cash receipts, and providing information to the public. In addition to day‑to‑day duties, the Revenue Lead has supervisory responsibilities over entrance attendants.
