As the Environment Health and Safety Coordinator, you will support the implementation, monitoring, and continuous improvement of EHS programs across manufacturing and laboratory operations at Voyager Energetics Inc. This position reports to the Safety and Compliance Manager and will be located onsite in Penrose, CO and will eventually transition to our Pueblo, CO location.
Essential Functions- Regulatory compliance support – assist the EHS team in maintaining and monitoring compliance with applicable regulatory requirements including OSHA, ATF explosives, DOT/PHMSA, DoD Contractor Safety Manual 4145.26, DODM 5100.76 (AA&E), and applicable environmental standards.
- Hazard identification & workplace inspections – conduct routine facility walk‑throughs and hazard assessments to identify unsafe conditions, document findings, and support corrective action tracking.
- Safety documentation & records management – maintain accurate EHS records including training logs, inspection reports, incident documentation, SDS files, and compliance calendars.
- Training & safety culture support – assist in the delivery and coordination of safety training programs including new hire onboarding, job‑specific hazard communication, and annual refresher training; track completion and maintain training records.
- Incident investigation support – assist with documentation and follow‑up for workplace incidents, near misses, and environmental events, including tracking corrective and preventive actions to closure.
- Bachelor’s degree in environmental health & safety, occupational safety, or a related field with 1 year of experience OR Master’s degree in a related field with 0 years of experience OR 5 or more years of progressive experience in Environmental, Health & Safety roles in lieu of a degree OR high school diploma or equivalent with 3 or more years of progressive experience in Environmental, Health & Safety roles.
- Working knowledge of OSHA general industry standards and applicable federal and state environmental and safety regulations.
- Demonstrated ability to conduct workplace inspections, identify hazards, and communicate findings clearly in written and verbal formats.
- Strong organizational skills with experience maintaining compliance documentation, training records, and logs in a regulated industrial environment.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, Outlook) and ability to learn and utilize safety management or training tracking systems.
- Experience in a manufacturing, chemical, defense, or industrial environment with exposure to explosives regulations, Haz Mat handling, or DOT/PHMSA requirements.
- Current OSHA 10 or 30‑Hour certification, First Aid/CPR, or other relevant EHS credential.
- Eligibility to obtain and maintain applicable state and federal explosives licenses, including minimum age of 21 and compliance with drug‑free workplace and other federal directives.
- U.S. citizenship, lawful permanent residency, protected individual status, or eligibility to obtain required authorizations for compliance with export regulations such as ITAR.
The good faith base salary range for this role is $55,000–$75,000 annually at the time of this posting. The range reflects base salary only and does not include benefits or bonuses.
