Schedule

Our Stores are open 9 AM to 9 PM Monday through Saturday and 9 AM to 8 PM Sunday. This supervisory position is full-time and requires open availability, including evenings, weekends, and holidays. Shifts may start as early as 7 AM and finish as late as 10 PM.

Position Overview

Goodwill of Colorado is seeking versatile and adaptable candidates with experience to become Shift Supervisors. Prior supervisory experience in retail, restaurant, hospitality, production, manufacturing, or similar industries is preferred. A successful Shift Supervisor will naturally become a top candidate for career growth opportunities within Goodwill's Retail Division.

Job Summary

The Retail Center Shift Supervisor is responsible for day‑to‑day, tactical, and practical leadership of associates and teams across the entire retail center.

Essential Functions
  • Monitor the entire retail center and address immediate issues of safety, customer focus, product flow, and aesthetics, either personally or through delegation.
Employee Leadership
  • Manage breaks.
  • Redirect staff/teams to address call‑offs.
  • Coach employees verbally and with initial write‑ups.
  • Provide input on reviews and terminations.
  • Facilitate employee purchases.
Task/Functional Leadership
  • Assist in opening and closing procedures.
  • Verify daily sales report paperwork.
  • Count drawers.
  • Move change between drawers and the safe.
  • Assist with inventory by counting, entering, and verifying.
Customer Focus
  • Plan, coordinate, and control the customer service team’s activities to maintain and enhance customer relationships and meet operational objectives.
  • First escalation point for customer complaints.
  • Act as point of contact for turning down donations at Attended Donation Centers (ADC).
Cross Training
  • Maintain store procedure knowledge as a generalist able to fill in for emergencies.
  • Process E‑Commerce product accurately and move it efficiently to E‑Commerce.
  • Obtain certification on pallet jack, walkie stacker, forklift, hand dolly, or other equipment to move and store donated product.
  • Maintain knowledge sufficient to keep operations running in rare cases where no Assistant Manager or Manager is on premises.
  • Additional responsibilities may be required beyond those listed.
Qualifications

Education
  • High School diploma or equivalent is preferred.
Experience
  • Previous supervisory experience preferred.
  • Two (2) years of retail experience desired.
Other Requirements
  • Familiar with product pricing, trends, fashions, and seasonal changes.
  • Effective verbal and electronic communication with customers, managers, supervisors, staff, and peers.
  • Obtain certification in all employee positions through completion of on‑the‑job documentation.
  • Obtain walkie stacker and/or forklift certification to safely operate equipment.
  • Quick problem‑solving and decision‑making abilities.
  • Maintain confidentiality and follow Goodwill’s policies and procedures.
  • Proficient with office equipment, Word, Excel, and web‑based applications such as UKG.
  • Manage corporate email and calendar (Outlook).
  • Withstand prolonged standing, bending, and lifting up to 8 hours per day.
  • Work varied schedule including weekends, evenings, and holidays with occasional overtime.
